Here Come Da Judge Jesus was very clear in the Gospels. In Matthew 7:1 He said "Do not judge." He then said "For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged." For some, that must be a little scary. There are a lot of judges out there and many are disguised as Christians. Many of these judges base their perception on false doctrine. I'm not sure if some want to know the truth. Often, it's more pleasing to...just judge. My friend Joe Croswell, who is part of this ministry, says the church is one of the only institutions that will eat its own. But before the buffet begins, there is a harsh judgment handed down. Sometimes, the innocent are judged while the guilty go free. The victims are turned into perpetrators and the perpetrators into victims. How can such a skewed picture of false reality exist? Usually through lying, deceit, manipulation, and many other demonic tricks. Before you cast a Pharisee like judgment on someone, take a moment to explore all the facts. Then, if you still are determined to judge, remember the words above from our Lord and Savior. Try to tame your tongue, though the Book of James calls that an impossibility," no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison." (James 3:8) When this judgment comes within the body of Christ, it can be especially discouraging. It can also split a church past the point of rescue. So think about the words that come out of your mouth. They have a profound effect, more than you even realize. When in doubt, why not just keep it shut. |
