The Stirring-Revisited

Last year I wrote an article called "The Stirring." It spoke of a stirring in the Christian spirit that says we are coming into the last days. I still feel that way.

In fact, the feeling is even stronger. It seems this country is at a perilous crossroads. I don't get very political in our Daily Messages, but these are critical days in the US. We have the Amnesty Bill that would legalize millions of illegal aliens, we have political candidates for president next year(both Democrats and Republicans)that are almost all in favor of abortion, we have a society that has become so politically correct we tend to ignore the ominous signs all around us, and we have radical Islam bent on destroying this country and all we stand for. But the trend that bothers me most is the political correctness that hesitates to use the words "Jesus Christ" because of fear it will offend members of other religions or atheists. There is no doubt that Jesus is being pushed to the back of the bus, even in many of our churches. There is also no doubt, at least in my mind, that we will pay a heavy price if we cut Jesus out of America.

I really don't want to write gloom and doom, but this feeling of coming tribulation has been in my spirit for over a year now as the world keeps getting less safe every minute. The fabric of this country is changing rapidly. I wonder how it will survive if it continues to show Christ the door. The US was built on the solid rock of Jesus. We need to pray that the rock is not replaced by the shifting sand.
