The Struggles of a Christian I had a meeting yesterday with an old friend. We used to work in broadcasting together, long before I was saved. Yesterday was our first real conversation about our own relationship with the Lord. We talked for 2 hours about business, family, friends, tragedies, triumphs, and our spiritual journey. Tom and I worked in radio together and we did some pretty crazy things on the air and some things that I would never do today. As we talked, I was surprised to learn that he is a very devout Christian. Tom said that when we used to work side by side, he always knew there was something missing in my life, something that I was trying to find in other ways, like material possessions and the admiration of friends and the community. Of course that something was a true relationship with Jesus Christ. Tom said that so many people think that once you become saved your trials and troubles are over...that you should act like a pious little church mouse. Little do they realize that the real struggle begins when you're saved. The good news is that you have the power of the Holy Spirit and the Lord God almighty to sustain you and get you through. I encourage you to get out and talk about your faith with others. Share your testimony and as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19, go and make disciples of all the nations. |
