“The Setting Sun” by Dewey Fox
I don’t know if anyone else in Morganton noticed the setting sun the other day (May 02, 2007). I had never seen anything quite like it. It was a glowing yellow and red color, like it was on fire. See picture above. The sun is setting and we have to be in the last days. I could only think of the signs of the last days and the Words of Jesus in Mark. [KJV] [Mark 13:25-27] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. And then there are the words of Jesus in Luke concerning His return; [KJV] LUKE [21:25-28] And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And then there are the words of Joel: [KJV] [Joel 2:31-32a] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
Are you looking forward to that Great Day? When the trumpet blows and Jesus will be coming back for His elect; the ones that have repented of their sin and are now following Him. Or are you going to be like the ones that have not and will not repent as we read in Revelation 16:8-9. 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Jesus came with His love and died upon the tree so that we can have the choice to choose life or death. Hopefully everyone reading this has chosen life. If not, make that commitment today for Jesus Christ. As the song says; “Have a little (big) talk with Jesus. Believe and follow the Son. Brother Dewey E. Fox
