~The Triumphs of Faith~

Let me ask you this important question today. Where is your faith? Is it in Jesus Christ, the Creator of all things, or in some person, preacher or pastor, some government, your money or another god? Let me ask you again today this question, “Where is your Faith?” It’s important to know where your faith is. Think about the last time you had a problem or some situation. Who did you look to for comfort? Remember Hebrew 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [HEB 11:1] [KJV]

Hebrews continues on about faith; it says, we have to have faith to believe that the world was created by God; by just speaking His Word. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. [HEB 11:3] [KJV]

It’s impossible to please God without faith. We have never seen God, so we have to have faith to believe that He is. Hebrews confirms this in verse six.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. [HEB 11:6] [KJV]

Hebrews Chapter 11 goes on to tell us about some of the great men and women of faith from biblical days, it says:

  • By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, [HEB 11:4] [KJV]
  • By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, [HEB 11:5] [KJV]
  • By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet [HEB 11:7] [KJV]
  • By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; [HEB 11:8] [KJV]
  • Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, [HEB 11:11] [KJV]
  • By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, [HEB 11:23] [KJV]
  • By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; [HEB 11:24] [KJV]
  • By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: [HEB 11:27] [KJV]
  • Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, [HEB 11:28] [KJV]
  • By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: [HEB 11:29] [KJV]
  • By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. [HEB 11:30] [KJV]
  • By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, [HEB 11:31] [KJV]

Faith in God alone will supply you the answers. The issue is not with God, but with our limited understanding of Him.

Where do we get faith? According to the Bible, it comes from hearing. Go to Romans 10:17, So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. [ROM 10:17] [NAS]
