Fill Up With Christ
It is amazing to me how merciful the Lord is and how he continually “knocks” on our heart’s door, seeking that fellowship and communion. This afternoon, as I was reading, Tozer’s work, The Divine Conquest, he stated that the “Spirit-filled walk demands that we live in the Word of God as a fish lives in the sea”. What an analogy! To be totally engulfed by the Word of God – what freedom that would bring to our lives. If we would meditate on His word, love it, feast upon it, digest it, and be surrounded by His presence continually, we would find that our problems would become very small in the light of His glory. Tozer mentions that the filling with the Spirit “requires that we give up our all” allowing Christ to reign supreme. If our desire for His spirit to fill us could be as all-consuming as our fleshly desires what a glorious time we would have in relationship with the Lord. Tozer also said that we have as much of God as we actually want. What a sobering thought. I would like to think that I want much more of the Lord than what I have….It makes me again begin to pray a prayer that I have heard a great man of God pray many times, “Lord make me willing to be willing”. May He dramatically increase our hunger and thirst for His presence!!
